The Academy Today

The highest governing body of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts is the Assembly, composed of all members. The Assembly adopts the most important acts and decisions concerning the organization and operation of the Academy (the Statute, financial plan, establishment of departments and scientific and artistic units, etc.), elects the President, Vice-President and Secretary of the Academy, and a designated number of members of the Presidency.
The Assembly elects members of the Academy (full, corresponding, members outside the working composition, and honorary members) every three years, by a majority vote of all full members and by secret ballot.
Members of the Academy are independent in their scientific and research activities, and their election is for life.
The organizational structure of the Academy includes: the Presidency, Executive Board, six departments, eight research centers, two professional units (Archives and Library), and the Secretariat.
